The Villa
Built in the early 1700s for the Fracanzan family, one of Vicenza’s most prominent families of the time.
Designed by Francesco Muttoni, a baroque architect inspired by Palladio, who even published a book on the great master’s works.
The villa cleverly combines medieval structures with elegant 18th-century design — a unique blend rarely found in the Veneto region.
It became a lively literary salon, hosting Elisabetta Caminer Turra, Italy’s first female journalist and a voice of the Enlightenment.
Inside, you can visit the historic kitchen with original stone sinks and copper pots, and stroll through gardens shaded by a 300-year-old plane tree.
The Piovene family still owns the villa today, preserving its beauty and history for future generations.
